Possibly Interesting Facts About Luc Besson
1. Luc Besson was born in Paris, France in 1959.

3. Luc Besson wrote the original screenplay for 1997’s The Fifth Element when he was in high school. He started writing the screenplay when he was 16…..the movie was released when he was 38.
4. When The Fifth Element production was delayed due to Bruce Willis’ schedule, rather than dismiss the production team and lose his creative momentum, Luc Besson wrote Léon: The Professional. It took him only 30 days to write the script, and the shoot lasted only 90 days.
5. Luc Besson has used Jean Reno in 6 of his movies. Reno was originally cast as Dallas Corbain in 1997’s The Fifth Element.

9. Luc Beeson and The Fifth Element Trivia Part 1: The hero Korben Dallas (Bruce Willis) and the villain Jean Baptiste Emanuel Zorg (Gary Oldman) never meet, nor do they communicate in any way. They are, in fact, unaware of each other’s degree of involvement. (This has always amazed me!).
10. Luc Beeson and The Fifth Element Trivia Part 2: In most shots of Gary Oldman’s Zorg, there is a circle around his head. In fact, a circle in the middle of the frame is a near-constant motif in this film. Bruce Willis, on the other hand, is more often framed by a rectangle or doorway behind him. (Pay attention to that the next time you watch the movie).

Hello Bruce,
Tanks for this French touch between all the greats American Directors..
I think i saw 10 films and my favorit stay “le grand bleu” in english “the Big bue”
I completely agree with Laurent and Phil.
To Day he Is one of the most important personnality of French cinéma and first of all he love movies and he Is a very great entreprener.
He creats and build Big studios in St Denis and there are a lot of people with talent working for him and for the cinéma.
I hope Valerian Will be great in France and in all the World for that point.
I see the first résultats for American market and it Is not very good but it stay France where he got fantastic succes and the rest of the world.
Anyway there are not a lot French Directors and actors who have notoriety in USA.
He stay one of them.
At Numbers one at America box office Is Dunkerque (French name ).
A terrible moment for english soldiers at the beginning of the second world war.
Merci
Pierre
Hey Pierre
1. Tally counts….Laurent 24, Cogerson 22 (counting The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec), Steve at 18 and you at 10.
2. I figured your tally would be a lot higher…especially with him being a French writer and director.
3. Thanks for the view of Besson from France. I saw The Big Blue years ago….I think it is time to see it again.
4. I think Dunkirk has stolen some of the steam from Valderian…..but I think Valderian is going to bounce back when it hits overseas markets.
Good feedback as always.
