4. When The Fifth Element production was delayed due to Bruce Willis’ schedule, rather than dismiss the production team and lose his creative momentum, Luc Besson wrote Léon: The Professional. It took him only 30 days to write the script, and the shoot lasted only 90 days.

5. Luc Besson has used Jean Reno in 6 of his movies.  Reno was originally cast as Dallas Corbain in 1997’s The Fifth Element.

    Tanks for this French touch between all the greats American Directors..
    I think i saw 10 films and my favorit stay “le grand bleu” in english “the Big bue”
    I completely agree with Laurent and Phil.
    To Day he Is one of the most important personnality of French cinéma and first of all he love movies and he Is a very great entreprener.
    He creats and build Big studios in St Denis and there are a lot of people with talent working for him and for the cinéma.
    I hope Valerian Will be great in France and in all the World for that point.
    I see the first résultats for American market and it Is not very good but it stay France where he got fantastic succes and the rest of the world.
    Anyway there are not a lot French Directors and actors who have notoriety in USA.
    He stay one of them.
    At Numbers one at America box office Is Dunkerque (French name ).
    A terrible moment for english soldiers at the beginning of the second world war.

      3. Thanks for the view of Besson from France. I saw The Big Blue years ago….I think it is time to see it again.
      4. I think Dunkirk has stolen some of the steam from Valderian…..but I think Valderian is going to bounce back when it hits overseas markets.
