Hi, I’ve been looking for a movie starring Marion Cotillard for a long time where she plays different women, with different names, with different jobs, in different cities. She eventually meets an ex of hers who exposes the game. At this point I’m no longer sure that Cotillard is the protagonist of the film. The film is beautiful, psychologically fantastic. If anyone can tell me the title, I’d be very happy.
Sounds like a movie called Complete Unknown. That movie stars Michael Shannon and Rachel Weisz versus Marion Cottilard. Is that possibly the movie?
Sembra un film intitolato Complete Unknown. Quel film è interpretato da Michael Shannon e Rachel Weisz contro Marion Cottilard. È forse questo il film?
i saw 7 including 5 of top 7. 10 and favorite the big fish.. 10 not favorite inception. 9s not favorites: the dark knight rises, public enemy, assassins creed( i guess i got it nobody else did). hidden gem a good year 8.
Hey Bob Cox. Good to hear from you. Seems like your new job is calming down some. I have seen 18 of her movies compared to your seven. Big fish is one of my favorites too. I have always enjoyed a Good Year which is the movie I first noticed her. I did not enjoy the Dark Knight Rises nearly as much as I enjoyed the Dark Knight. Good stuff.
Congratulations to Cogerson/UMR for painstakingly profiling a highly-acclaimed French actress who has successfully straddled both the US and European Continental movie industries. Here is a measure of her strong medium-versatility and financial and artistic success:
1/Obviously the list of 28 feature movies tabled above including voice work in general.
2/15 short films.
3/14 television productions
4/11 musical videos
5/7 theatrical productions
6/$40 million net worth according to Celebrity Net Worth
7/78 acting awards and 114 nominations – wow!
My own faves among Marion’s films are Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris, Macbeth and La Vie an Rose in which she played the great Edith Piaf, one of my own fave female singers, many of whose recordings I have in my musical collection. [Reportedly she was also one of The Great Mumbler’s many lovers!]
The stats table above gives Marion an adjusted domestic gross of around 1.5 billion. Wikipedia quotes her worldwide actual gross as $3 billion but doesn’t give details or adjust for inflation. This new page is definitely “Voted Up!”
Hey Bob. I have enjoyed her performances for years. Pretty much fell in love with her in A Good Year. My own rankings look down on that movie but it is one that I watch regularly. She’s always been on the list of pages to do since she’s an Oscar winner. Thanks for sharing this additional information on her. Of your three favorites, I enjoyed Midnight in PAris the most. Good stuff as always.
HI BRUCE
Thanks for feedback. I also enjoyed Russell’s A Good Year.
That was 13 years ago. I wonder how many people he’s annoyed since then!.
Hey Bob. Good to know we agree on that movie. Us agreeing happen so little, I have to stop and smell the roses. ….lol. I think Russell is calming down in his old age.
