  1. Somewhat shocked that we did not already have a Martin Ritt page. If you would have asked me if he had an UMR page I would have sworn he got one years ago. I have seen 11 of these movies…a little less than I would have guessed. Favorites would include Murphy’s Romance and his 2 Paul Newman classics Hud and Hombre. FYI – just watched Pete and Tillie last night. It was a big “it’s ok”. Not sure I bought the happy ending after Matthau spent the whole movie being a jerk to Carol Burnett.
