Matthew McConaughey Movies

Want to know the best Matthew McConaughey movies?  How about the worst Matthew McConaughey movies?  Curious about Matthew McConaughey’s box office grosses or which Matthew McConaughey movie picked up the most Oscar® nominations? Need to know which Matthew McConaughey movie got the best reviews from critics and audiences? Well you have come to the right place …. because we have all of that information.

As I was working on my latest page, Best Movies of 1946 and I got into a conversation about my latest page subject with one of my children (my 21 year old daughter). When I told her my latest subject, I could tell she had no interest what so ever in movies made 48 years before she was born. So figuring she has to represent a decent percentage of my readers, I figured I would publish a current page to go with my 1946 page. So I grabbed my handy dandy movie notebook and checked out some of my requests over the last 9 months. So the winner from the requests was Mr. Matthew McConaughey.

Matthew McConaughey (1969-) is an American actor who began his acting career in 1991. After appearing in supporting roles in movies like 1993’s Dazed and Confused, 1994’s Angels in the Outfield and 1996’s Lone Star, he got his first big break by getting the lead role in 1996’s A Time To Kill. Since the success of A Time To Kill, McConaughey has become one of the more recognizable leading men working in movies today. He has appeared in romantic comedies, action films, Oscar® winning dramas and even some horror films.   Our personal Top 3 McConaughey movies are Reign of Fire (2002), We Are Marshall (2006) and Interstellar (2014).

Matthew McConaughey has 60 IMDb acting credits from 1992-2017.  In the following table we ranked 40 Matthew McConauhey movies in six sortable columns of information in the following table.  Cameos, television appearances, shorts and direct to DVD movies were not included in the rankings.

    1. Hey Flora…I love Fargo…and I am almost 100% sure it will be her number one movie when I find all the information on her movies….I remember when I saw Fargo the first time it was during the 1996 Oscars….I have boycotted the Oscar show two times in my life….I boycotted that year because I was so upset that they nominated Babe(the talking pig movie) for some many Oscars including a Best Picture nomination…so I decided to skip the show and go to the movies….anyway…I found it to be a great movie then and still do now.

  1. Well it’s a character I love but I’m not sure what her total history is and I’d love to see her in more – what about Frances Mcdormand? From Fargo? She just cracks me up! I’m not sure if she’s played in a lot of movies but I do recall some good ones.

    1. Consider it done…I will make that the next one I do…so I guess we will find out together about her movie career…I do know she is married to one of the Coen brothers…and they helped her win her Oscar many years ago. Thanks for the suggestion.

  2. Oh yeah…..I just read this one again…..I needed a breath of fresh air:)

I really did say that to my hair dresser – but Dave wouldn’t go to a chick salon…..

I fort because I got all excited about so many things when I was reading it – A Time to Kill was my favorite serious movie and How to Lose a Guy my fav comedy. Can we make requests? I have one! Lol

My friend tried to post a comment on here but she wasn’t able to so here goes….”Your post on the page about my boy Matthew shows up on my newsfeed and I go to post my comment on it but it wont let me. So here is my comment “I don’t rate his movies on his acting skills. I watch Matthew movies just to look at him” Hubba Hubba”

Thank you Rogers, you made some wonderful women very happy! – Sunshine

I once called my hairdresser and said, “I’m sending my husband over – dont’t send him back until you get him looking like Matt! Haven’t seen him since…..

Anyhow – ! Lol. I loved him in so many of his movies – he is a great actor! Awesome up and everything! Personal thanks:-)! Lol

    1. Hey RealHousewife…that is a funny story/line about your husband and your hair dresser…I showed it to my wife and we both got a big laugh out of that one…..I assume the look you wanted was not the one from Reign on Fire(see photo above)…I can almost manage that one….lol.

Thanks for the compliments and I am glad you enjoyed my Matthew McCongauhey page.
