  1. I have seen Michael j In just 5 films: bonnie and Clyde, Russians are coming, dick Tracy, Scrooge’s and next of kin. Unfortunately I can remember him in none of them.

His net worth on his death is said to nave been $1.5 million. That does not seem much for a #60 year Year career but the celebrity net worth site figures exclude money earned and spent.

This is a timely and worthy tribute but fly in the ointment: Eva Marie saint is not given due credit as the leading lady and second billed star of Russians are coming; but maybe it was felt that on the waterfront and it’s stars were given enough dilation and “love” back in their day. Anyway “voted up!”

    1. Hey Bob…..thanks for sharing your thoughts on Mr. Pollard. Tally count…me 12, Flora 6 and you 5. I can see you not remembering his role in 4 of the 5 movies…but not remembering his part in Bonnie and Clyde? He might have the biggest part in the movie…plus he got an Oscar nomination for the role. Net worth seems low…but he has me beat…lol. As for the Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming. Alan Arkin would also be somebody I could include in the list….I just went with the two I think of when I think about that movie. Thanks for the visit to our Pollard tribute page. Hope you enjoyed your London trip. Good stuff.

  2. Loved him in many things but he stood out in my mind in a supporting role in Scrooge and a lead role in Hannibal Brooks. Speaking of Hannibal Brooks, I do not see it listed. Classic comedy from England in the late 1960s. Sad news of his passing.

    1. Hey Eric….good thoughts on Mr. Pollard. I was not able to find any box office information on Hannibal Brooks…but I will continue to search. On the viewing side…I will also make an effort to see the movie. I liked him in Scrooge as well. Thanks for checking out our Pollard tribute page. RIP.

    1. Hey Dan.
      1. Thanks for sharing this Pollard trivia lists on our tribute page to his career.
      2. Interesting….I did not realize he had been married to Beth Howland…..and it is pretty interesting that she has a spot on the Oracle list and he does not….would not have guessed that.
      3. First list…..wow…it longs like 2 movies is the leader from the Oracle list…surprised that noboby was a threepeat….then again….although his career lasted decades…his movie output was not too large.
      4. Second list….on average 25 Oscar winning co-stars is low…by percentage to movies it is actually pretty high. Good stuff as always…thoughts to his family.

  4. Thanks for my requested page on Michael J. Pollard.

I have seen 6 of his movies, all of them in the top 10.

The HIGHEST rated movie I have seen is Bonnie and Clyde.

The highest rated movie I have NOT seen is Summer Magic.

The LOWEST rated movie I have seen is The Wild Angels.

    1. Hey Flora. Thanks for your thoughts, tally and visit on your requested Pollard tribute page. The last time I did a page on recently passed thespian….I got a little backlash for doing it. So far no backlash on this page. I have seen 12 of his movies….which includes all 6 that you have seen. Roxanne and Scrooged would be my favorites as well. We will probably be watching Scrooged in a few weeks…it has been a few years since watching that Xmas movie. Good stuff. Rest in Peace Mr. Michael J. Pollard.

  5. Been awhile. Saw the news of his passing, and felt I would see what was happening at Ultimate Rankings. Sure enough, you have a page looking at his career. Rest in peace.

    1. Hey Taylor….yep…it seems you took an UMR vacation…we did not approve that…..lol. Good to hear from you again…sorry the passing of Michael J. Pollard is the reason.
