Morgan Freeman Movies

Want to know the best Morgan Freeman movies?  How about the worst Morgan Freeman movies?  Curious about Morgan Freeman’s box office grosses or which Morgan Freeman movie picked up the most Oscar® nominations? Need to know which Morgan Freeman movie got the best reviews from critics and audiences and which ones got the worst? Well you have come to the right place….because we have all of that information.

Before doing this page, I would have told you the actor that I became first aware of as a kid ….. was John Wayne. Turns out the answer has to be Morgan Freeman. Freeman appeared on PBS’s The Electric Company from 1971 to 1977. I was in kindergarten in 1972, and The Electric Company was required viewing. I remember seeing Freeman in the trailer for 1980’s Brubaker, and telling my brother…”Hey its that guy from the Electric Company”….ok enough about me.

In 1987 Freeman played Fast Eddie, a very brutal pimp, in Smart Street. He received his first Oscar® and Golden Globe® nomination for that role, and his movie career has never looked back.  Since those early days, he has become one of the most respected actors working today.  His IMDb page shows over 130 acting credits since 1964. This page will rank Morgan Freeman movies from Best to Worst in six different sortable columns of information. Television shows, shorts, cameos and movies that were not released in theaters were not included in the rankings.  This page was from a request by Sunshine.

    1. Randy Behavior….thanks for commenting….I think even some of his direct to DVD movies have been pretty good as well…..I recently watched The Contract with Freeman and John Cusack….and it even has some decent parts

  2. I can’t honestly say I’ve ever seen him in a role I didn’t like. Whatever one might think of him…he keeps a job. 🙂

  3. Morgan Freeman is one of the most consistant and reliable actors in the business. He always brings a kind of dignity to his roles. My favorite film of his is “Unforgiven”.

I remember being a young kid and watching him, Bill Cosby and Rita Moreno (And a few other people who’s names I don’t remember) in the Electirc Company. I adored that show when I was in elementary school.

    1. Robwrite…..Unforgiven is one of my favorites as well….it is in a close competition with Glory as my personal favorite….I also have very fond memories of the Electric Company
