Nicole Kidman Movies

Want to know the best Nicole Kidman movies?  How about the worst Nicole Kidman movies?  Curious about Nicole Kidman box office grosses or which Nicole Kidman movie picked up the most Oscar® nominations? Need to know which Nicole Kidman movie got the best reviews from critics and audiences? Well you have come to the right place….because we have all of that information.

Nicole Kidman (1967-) is an Oscar® winning Australian-American actress.  In many ways it is shocking to realize that she was first noticed in 1988’s Dead Calm and became a star in 1990’s Days of Thunder….which means her days as a movie star are closing in on 30 YEARS already!    Nicole Kidman’s IMDb page shows over 99 acting credits since 1983. This page will rank Nicole Kidman movies from Best to Worst in six different sortable columns of information. Television shows, her early Australian movies and movies that were not released in North American theaters were not included in the rankings.  To do well in our overall rankings a movie has to do well at the box office, get good reviews by critics, be liked by audiences and get some award recognition.

Drivel part of the page:  When we first starting writing these pages on Hub Pages back in 2011….we admit…we pretty much ignored actresses.  Well this Nicole Kidman page is the 99th page that has featured an actress….which means the next actress will be our 100th actress page.  That is still less than actors but at least the tally is started to get respectable.

  1. Hi

I wouldn’t be a massive fan of Kidman but she has appeared in some good movies. I’ve always enjoyed Far and Away. She’s like a young Maureen O’Hara. To Die For is a good show and I think my favourite would be The Others. Arguably one of the best ghost movies ever made.
Her Oscar winning performance in The Hours was great but the film is so dark and depressing. I was disappointed in Bewitched but liked The Stepford Wives, although it wasn’t as good as the original. And I thought Cold Mountain was particularly good.
I was about to go see Australia but a friend who had seen it put me off. Her career seems to have gone off the boil at the moment but no doubt a great talent.

    1. Hey Chris…thanks for sharing your Kidman movie thoughts…..I was not aware that I had seen so many of her movies…I have seen 39 and I picked up Genius today…so pretty soon my tally will be at 40…..no idea I had seen that many.

I like your comparison of her and O’Hara….her Far and Away is a close relative of O’Hara’s Classic The Quiet Man. The Hours is good but I will never watch that one again…life is too short for such a depressing movie.

Bewitched was a mess….they even figured out a way to waste Caine and MacLaine…..it takes talent to do that….lol. Yeah you did not miss much in not seeing Australia in theaters…your friend gave good advice. Thanks for checking out our latest.

    1. Hey Dan…..thanks for these Oscar winners. 35 is pretty impressive. That is a pretty impressive cast for Portrait of a Lady…classic and current stars. Thanks for the list.

    2. I put a weird list of people who have appeared in numerous 100 million people I have found from my database matched to some of your box office figures. Remember I said I had a book by David Quinlan which did 2000 stars up to 1995 and I used the people in that book along with the Oracle of Bacon lists, the AFI nomines and old IMDB lists when they did them and are in the Internet Archive site. There are numerous actors that I have never heard of that are in my file. I just bought through Amazon, Quinlan’s Illustrated Directory of Film Character Actors which has about 1100 actors. It has a number of these strange people and I know their faces. People like Clem Bevans, Peter Brocco, Nestor Paiva and Emory Parnell. There are others like John Crawford or Rolfe Sedan I don’t recognize who are on Oracle of Bacon lists but they are written about and have all their films listed. This edition is from1995 and cost $3.

      1. Hey Dan….sounds like you have collected some great books along the way. Your database has way more people in it than mine. I bet my entire database has less than 1000 actors or actresses. I only have one of his books…one on Tom Hanks that is almost 20 years old. For the holidays we always go to my wife’s family in Alabama. The highlight for me is stopping (of course I am after seeing my in-laws) is stopping at the best used book store I have ever been to…it is called McKay’s Used Books….they get 1000s of “new” used books a day. The place is two stories and normally has 100 to 200 people in the store at all times….anyway when we go there in a couple of weeks I will keep an eye out for some more Quinlan books. $3 bucks sounds good to me too.

  3. Now we are talking. She is one of my favorites. So pretty and talented. I have see thirty-seven of these movies. Eyes Wide Shut, The Others, The Hours and To Die For. Loved reading this!

    1. Hey Helakoski….glad you enjoyed this page so much. If you have some suggestions for pages…please share them. You have been commenting for a very long time…but I do not remember doing a page that you requested. Just request….and I will move it up the ladder.

37 is impressive…I did not think I had a chance to beat that total….but I actually did…as I have seen 39 of her movies. Thanks for sharing your favorite Kidman movies…and thanks for the comment and the visit.

  4. Before Brad and Angie there was… Tom and Nicole… but it was not meant to be.

As soon as Nicole split with Tom she became a respected actress and won awards.

I’ve seen 24 of the 44 films listed. None of them huge favorites but the ones I’ve watched more than once include – Batman Forever, Happy Feet, Moulin Rouge, Days of Thunder, The Invasion and The Golden Compass.

Moulin Rouge tops the UMR, fair enough it was popular and got good reviews, Paddington tops the critics charts, now there’s a surprise. Kidman fans gasp as the teddy bear movie tops The Hours, The Others and Kubrick’s frankly boring Eyes Wide Shut (a great career ends with a giant yawn).

    Good work Bruce, Vote Up!

    1. Hey Steve….thanks for checking out my Kidman page. Yep for awhile Tom and Nick were the “it” couple…but like many “it” couples things did not work out in the end. 24 seen…that is good…but it is already second with Helakoski’s 37 seen. I am at….counting…wow…I am 39….shocked that I have seen so many Kidman movies….maybe I am a big fan.

Paddington got great reviews…something like 98% on rotten tomatoes….but I agree….it seems strange that it was so high….I guess I could say since she was in a supporting role…that it does not really count…lol. I thought Eyes Wide Shut was much better on the second viewing….and she is sexy as hell in that one. I was not too impressed with The Hours…actually when I think about that movie…I always remember Julianne Moore’s role more than Kidman’s role.

Thanks for the vote up and for the visit.
