Pat O’Brien  (1899-1983) was an American film actor. Of Irish descent, he was referred to as “Hollywood’s Irishman in Residence” in the press.  O’Brien was one of the best-known screen actors of the 1930s and 1940s, he played priests, cops, military figures, pilots, and reporters.    He is especially well-remembered for his roles in 1938’s Angels with Dirty Faces, 1940’s Knute Rockne, All American,  and 1959’s Some Like It Hot .  His IMDb page shows 149 from 1930 to 1982.   This page ranks 75 Pat O’Brien movies from Best to Worst in six different sortable columns of information.   1. Bruce, Thanks for posting the trailer to TORRID ZONE which is a true “hidden gem”. Brings back memories of the Saturday night movies on the local PBS station here in Cincinnati back in the late 1960s and early 1970s which showed many of the great classic motion pictures as well as some cult classics from Hollywood’s Golden Era as well.
