Behind The Cogerson Curtain

The chandelier we saved.
Last weekend we got called into emergency duty! We had to save a chandelier for somebody that was moving and their electrician baled on them at the last minute. So we had to build a structure that would allow us to be able to reach 18 feet. WoC designed this and we put it together (twice) in a 24 hour period. Happy to say the chandelier made the move.
We rarely have all 6 kids together…as at times they are all over the world….but on Sunday….they were all in one room. My favorite thing in this picture?  Our son-in-law forcing Sam into the room (bottom right).
Swimming after a day of putting in hardwood floors.

Summer 2021 Project – Replacing Carpet with Flooring in our Family Room

The first step in this massive project was moving my DVDs. Over 1000 movies in alphabetical order! That was somewhat difficult keeping them in the correct order.
What are family room looked like after emptying it….and pulling out the carpet.

All my DVDs back on their shelves and in alphabetical order.

Getting lots of use out of my green screen this year.

FDR’s house….though it was actually his mom’s house until she passed away in the early 1940s. FDR died in 1945.
FDR used this luggage lift to pull himself up to get to the upper floors of his house.
The phone on the wall by FDR’s bed was directly connected to the White House. FDR spent lots of time in Hyde Park during his presidency…this phone allowed it.
FDR’s actual desk that he used at the White House from 1933-1945. Items on desk are the items found on his desk after his passing. Now lives in the FDR Presidential library.

    1. Thanks for sharing these looks behind the Cogerson curtain. The floors look good, as does your DVD collection.

    1. Thank you Taylor. We have three more to put up….Sir Michael Caine, Bob Feller and Jim Bouton. Caine is of course an actor, Bob Feller was a Hall of Fame pitcher and Jim Bouton was Yankees pitcher, book auther (Ball Four…one of the great baseball books) and actor (Robert Altman cast him in The Long Goodbye with Elliott Gould).

  1. Last days of our vacation…yesterday we gave my office a facelift…I think it turned out pretty well. WoC is the bomb. Getting a break from dental work this week….next round of procedures is next Monday…NOT looking like I will be done with the dental work before school starts….as they have discovered another issue…joy to the world. Can anybody name the movie on the television? Shockingly this one is now 16 years old!
