Ralph Bellamy Movies

Want to know the best Ralph Bellamy movies?  How about the worst Ralph Bellamy movies?  Curious about Ralph Bellamy box office grosses or which Ralph Bellamy movie picked up the most Oscar® nominations? Need to know which Ralph Bellamy movie got the best reviews from critics and audiences and which got the worst reviews? Well you have come to the right place….because we have all of that information.

Ralph Bellamy (1904-1991) was an Oscar®-nominated American actor.  Bellamy’s movie career covered 7 decades.    His IMDb page shows 199 acting credits from 1931-1990. This page will rank 55 Ralph Bellamy movies from Best to Worst in six different sortable columns of information. Television roles, uncredited roles and movies that were not released in North America were not included in the rankings.

Drivel part of the page:  The good news?  Every Ralph Bellamy movie from 1941 to 1990 is on the following table.  The bad news?  Between 1931 and 1940 Bellamy was a movie making machine.  He made 67 movies or almost 7 movies a year for that time frame.  We sadly were only able to find box office information on 27 of those movies.  Yes were are also disappointed in our 60% fail rate.  This page was requested by Cogerson Hall of Fame commenter Søren, a very very long time ago….sorry for the delay Søren.

    9 pictures with Ann Doran (she is in Quigley’s character actors book). I have never seen any of the Ellery Queen movies considering the 22,000 or so films I’ve seen. I’ve only seen 1 of the 16 Jones Family pictures that Fox released in the late 30’s too (off subject but nobody in those pictures has had a page done and probably won’t).

    Ralph appeared with 38 Oscar winners (I don’t think anyone will catch Michael Caine);

    1. Hey Dan
      1. Thanks as always for providing these Kevin Bacon Oracle lists.
      2. This is cool that he was 507th on the original list.
      3. I think it is cool trivia that his first movie starred “newcomers” Clark Gable and Jean Harlow….and his last movie starred “newcomer” Julia Roberts….he makes a great bridge.
      4. Samuel L. Jackson will be keeping Ralph connected to the list for a very very long time.
      5. Bess gets topped by Ann….9 to 8 movies here….sorry Bess…I guess you should have been in more movies…lol.
      6. I think you are correct….Michael Caine will be hard to top….and he should add Gary Oldman to this list in a few weeks.
      Good information as always.

  4. Hey Mr. Cogerson. I just did a comment that shared a wonderful Bellamy video. But it does not show up. Can you fix it?

    1. Hey SteinHoF’16….I just approved that comment….because of the link you attached….the comment was flagged by my anti-spam software…..but it is now out there.

    1. Thanks for the link SteinHoF’16….I had not heard the story he tells about The Awful Truth….based on his story it is pretty amazing how well The Awful Truth turned out. Good stuff.
