The Golden Raspberry (Razzies®) awards are the brainchild of John J.B. Wilson. The Razzies® celebrate the worst that Hollywood has to offer for a given year. Wilson started the Razzies® back in 1980, and they have grown into a yearly fun event…..unless of course you are one of the nominees or the winners. The Razzies® follow in the tradition of the Medved brother’s Golden Turkey Awards and the Harvard Lampoon “Movie Worst” Awards.
This page looks at the winners or should I say loser of the Worst Picture of the year. All the Razzie® Winning Movies are listed in the following table. The table ranks 37 Razzie Winning Movies movies from Best to Worst in five different sortable columns of information.
Razzie Winning Movies Movies Can Be Ranked 5 Ways In This Table
The really cool thing about this table is that it is “user-sortable”. Rank the movies anyway you want.
- Sort by Razzie Winning Movies by the stars of his movies.
- Sort Razzie Winning Movies movies by adjusted domestic box office grosses using current movie ticket cost.
- Sort Razzie Winning Movies movies how they were received by critics and audiences. 60% rating or higher should indicate a good movie.
- Sort by how many Oscar® nominations and how many Oscar® wins each Razzie Winning Movies movie received.
- Sort Razzie Winning Movies movies by Ultimate Movie Rankings (UMR) Score. UMR Score puts box office, reviews and awards into a mathematical equation and gives each movie a score.

Things I Find Interesting About The Razzie Winning Movies
1. Sandra Bullock actually proved what a good sport she was by picking up her Razzie® for All About Steve the night before she won her Oscar® for The Blindside. Halle Berry also picked up her Razzie® and gave a very funny acceptance speech.
2. Internet Movie Database (IMDb) actually lists Razzie® wins and nominations under the awards section for each actor and actress on their website.
3. Adam Sandler has been nominated for 20 Razzie® nominations over the years. He has won 5 Razzies®.
4. Sylvester Stallone has received 28 Razzie® nominations. Stallone has won 8 Razzies® in his career…..he also won Worst Actor of the decade and Worst Actor of the century Razzies®. One of his Razzies® was shared with James Cameron for their writing on Rambo: First Blood Part 2.
5. Bruce Willis and Demi Moore were married from 1987 to 2000. During that time frame they managed to star in 4 movies that won Razzies® for Worst movie(Hudson Hawk, Striptease, Color of Night and Indecent Proposal). They also managed to make 5 other movies that were nominated for Worst movie(North, Nothing But Trouble, Bonfire of the Vanities, The Scarlett Letter and Armageddon). Being a big Bruce Willis fan…..it actually hurt to type this possibly interesting fact.
6. Another great source for really bad movies are the books written by Michael Medved and his brother Harry Medved. Those books look at many movies made before 1980 and are called The Fifty Worst Movies of All Time, The Golden Turkey Awards, and The Son of the Golden Turkey Awards.
If you do a comment….please ignore the email address and website section.
Hmmm when did you post this Bruce? I got no email notifications.
Raspberry awards eh should be interesting let me see…
So Ghosts Can’t do it is number one worst because it has the lowest moviescore rating? Never saw it.
Battlefield Earth seems to be the worst going by the critics and I’ve seen that film far more times than Schindler’s List or Forrest Gump, he proudly admitted. 🙂
Of the 33 films you’ve listed I’ve seen 18 and bought 9 on DVD.
My favourites are Rambo, Star Trek V, Howard the Duck and Revenge of the Fallen.
It was nice of Sandra to pick up her Razzie, Halle too
Hey FBR…three is not bad especially considering your rule about not watching movies after you were born. I think the only one I would half way recommend would be Hudson Hawk…..as bad as it was….you have to give Willis credit for coming up with the idea of Da Vinci hiding secrets in his work…and how modern day people are searching for the clues….can you say The Da Vinci Code….I know I am being a Willis apologist…lol.
I agree with you and Steve….kudos to Halle Berry and Sandra Bullock for picking up their Razzies….I will be shocked if Sandler actually gets his numerous Razzies this year. I appreciate your input.

wow, im very surprised to see “rambo first blood II” and “mommy dearest” on here, as i didn’t think they were bad movies. it should be interesting to see who wins this year’s Razzie awards. I’ve never payed much attention to it myself, but i’ll probably check it out on april 1, for curiosity purposes. anyway, thanks for sharing this information.
Hey Stevennix2001….yep Rambo 2 was a monster box office hit but the reviews were pretty brutal….once proving that the public does not really pay attention to what critics say about popular mainstream movies. Mommie Dearest got the closest to the “fresh” score at RottenTomatoes of 60% than any other movie on the chart….58%. I actually remember Faye Dunaway getting some Oscar buzz for her performance in that movie.
I think it will be, to take a line from a Sandra Bullock movie….All About Adam when they do their award show….thanks for the comment and the visit.
Nice chime very fun to read. I do have one disagreement. I feel you have Freddy Got Fingered rated to high. I think it is the worst movie ever made, and 14th worst is giving it too much credit. Also I did not realize James Cameron won a Razzie for Rambo2, lots of tidbits in this chime.
Thanks for stopping by Peter
i can honestly say i have never seen any of these movies. since they give so many awards for best movies it seems only appropriate that they also give ones for worst movies. glad you did this hub. the actors who showed up to receive their awards can laugh at themselves which make them better human beings.
Hey mimic….thanks for the comment and the visit. Glad I could help shine some light on the Razzies for you. I think you would also enjoy the Golden Turkey awards as well….very interesting books on some really bad movies. I agree that actors/actresses that show up for these awards seem to be able to not take themselves so serious. Good to hear from you.
I remember Sandra receiving her Razzie. She did it so confidently. All About Steve definitely wasn’t the best film but I enjoy all Sandra movies anyways. I did not know the new Twilight film has been nominated for worst film…ouch! Jack and Jill did look pretty bad, though. Thanks for sharing this timely movie page – I was wondering what awards were coming up next when someone mentioned it…of course, the Razzies!
Hey emilybee…thanks for the comment. Yep the Razzies are next for award shows….usually they occur the night before the Oscar show….this year they moved it back…not sure how much press it will get since the 2011 movie award season has longed passed. I think the Razzies need to start telecasting the awards live on tv for them to continue to grow.
I think Jack and Jill and Adam Sandler will hear there names called many many times on April 1st. I have seen a few minutes of Jack and Jill….and it was painful to watch….especially when Al Pacion and Johnny Depp show up for their parts….brutal brutal. Thanks for the votes up.
I agree 100% with you about Sandra Bullock, I was very impressed when she showed up to get her Razzie….it is the old saying…any publicity is good publicity.
