Want to know the best Reese Witherspoon movies? How about the worst Reese Witherspoon movies? Curious about Reese Witherspoon box office grosses or which Reese Witherspoon movie picked up the most Oscar® nominations? Need to know which Reese Witherspoon movie got the best reviews from critics and audiences? Well you have come to the right place….because we have all of that information.
Reese Witherspoon (1976-) is an Oscar® winning American actress. Witherspoon is a member of the small but impressive CAWBAA (Child Actors Who Became Awesome Adults) group. It is hard to believe that the young actress in Freeway, The Man In The Moon and Jack The Bear is now 40! Witherspoon’s IMDb page shows over 60 acting credits since 1991. This page will rank Reese Witherspoon movies from Best to Worst in six different sortable columns of information. Television shows and movies that were not released in North American theaters were not included in the rankings. To do well in our overall rankings a movie has to do well at the box office, get good reviews by critics, be liked by audiences and get some award recognition.
Drivel part of the page: Our last two pages dealt with Western movies. The Bad: Those pages took a very long time to research and write. The Good: Those pages broke our record for most views after 48 hours! The Ugly: No rest for the weary, as that is now ancient history….and a new page needs to be done. For our new UMR Movie page subject….we decided to go the easy route….and picked a current performer, Reese Witherspoon, who required very little research….as we had 25 of her 33 movies already full researched in our database.

Reese Witherspoon Movies Ranked In Chronological Order With Ultimate Movie Rankings Score (1 to 5 UMR Tickets) *Best combo of box office, reviews and awards.

Hey, Bruce.
Reece is one of the current stars my age group whom I know well and love her films. Great to see another female featured.
As always with a current star, I have not seen as many movies as I have classic stars.
But still, I have seen a lot of her films considering what era I prefer and there are other films that are on my to-see list.
I have seen only 5 of them, but I want to see WILD more than the others.
Favourite:
Walk the Line where she and her leading man did their own singing – love the Cashes.
Don’t get the film mixed up with the Gregory Peck movie which has nothing to do with the Johnny Cash biography.
I have also seen Pleasantville – loved it
Legally Blonde
Sweet Home Alabama
Legally Blonde 2
Hey Flora.
1. Nice to see a Flora comment on a current actress.
2. Tally count…..me 24…Steve 11…and you 5..
3. She is excellent in Wild….a role that might surprise you….but she was well deserving of her Oscar nomination
4. Glad you liked Walk The Line….as well as Pleasantville.
5. Somehow I have managed not to see either Legally Blonde movie…though I have seen bits and pieces of he first one.
6. Debbie….who was raised in Alabama….loves Sweet Home Alabama….and watches it pretty regularly.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Reese Witherspoon.
Been a fan of hers ever since I discovered her cult classic S.F.W. which stands for So FWord What. Cleaned that up for you. She is an amazing actress without a doubt.
Hey Annymous…thanks for cleaning up your comment…I actually knew what it stood for…..as I watched that movie when it first came to home entertainment….a strange one indeed. Blink and you will miss Maguire.
Remembering her earlier roles I would never have predicted Reese Witherspoon becoming an Oscar Winning actress!
I’ve seen 11 of the 33 films listed here, probably more some of these titles look very familiar, the only two I have on Blu-ray are This Means War and Monsters vs Aliens. some I’ve only watched once like American Psycho, I’m not the biggest Christian Bale fan though I did like him as Bruce Wayne. Inherent Vice bored the daylights out of me.
Walk the Line was good but it’s another of her films I’ve only watched once. I see it’s no.1 on the UMR chart, makes sense she did win an Oscar for that. No.1 on the critics chart is Mud, first time I’ve heard of this one. Are you making these titles up again Bruce? [cue Bruce snarling] 🙂
I will recommend Freeway if anyone hasn’t seen it, a guilty pleasure movie I remember watching a bunch of times with my ex many years ago, Reese is hilarious in this loopy crime thriller co-starring Kiefer Sutherland, I don’t think it was meant to be a comedy.
Nice work as always Bruce. Voted Up!
Hey Steve.
1. I was right there with on her early career…..but she has done a great job of getting out that stereotyped roll she played in her career.
2. Tally count….me 24…, you 11…. And Flora checking in on a modern star at 5.
3. I thought Inherent Vice was horrible too….an entire movie looking at J. Phoenix’s dirty feet.
4. Mud is the movie that turned Matthew McConghauey into a established actor versus a pretty face….so yes it is real…..it was the third in a trilogy…part 1 was a Dirt….part 2 was Water…. And Mud was the finale….lol.
5. Freeway was a nice surprise….her first good movie.
Thanks for stopping by.
I’ve heard her in interviews, she can be quite the diva. I haven’t seen her alot, but Wild was absolutely fantastic. She carried the whole film, well Laura Dern was great too, but Reese was just killing it. I think the film deserves more recognition…I don’t see how ‘biopics’ like Theory of Everything and Imitation Game is better than wild, given how the other two were pretty formulaic. Nice analysis btw!!!! Thanks for the follow on twitter, you got a neat site!
Hey JW ……thanks for the mini-review on Wild…..I agree with you 100 percent about her and Dern’s performances. Glad you like our website….and glad to follow you on Twitter.
Love everything she does. My favorite is Wild. It’s a fantastic film with Witherspoon giving the best performance of her career.
Thank you Reese Fan 4 Ever. I agree she was excellent n Wild.
