For comments….all you need is a name and a comment….please ignore the rest.
The man makes sappy sappy movies but damn they are fun movies to watch.
Hey SteinHoF16….I agree with most of your comment. Sappy but fun indeed.
I’ve seen 6 of the 15 films on the list, they are – Bridget Jones 1 & 2 (still haven’t seen 3), Notting Hill, Love Actually, Four Weddings and a War Horse.
Of those 6 I’ve probably seen Bridget Jones 1 and Notting Hill the most.
I may have seen The Tall Guy back in my video days but I can’t remember for sure.
The Full Monty not a Richard Curtis film? I’m surprised, it was a huge hit in Britain when it came out. But it’s not one of my favorites. Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Sexy Beast was more my ‘British cup of tea’ back then. 🙂
Good stuff Bruce. Vote Up!
Hey Steve. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on your fellow countryman, Richard Curtis. Tally count: Me 11, Helakoski 10, you 6 and Flora 4. Good to know you enjoy Notting Hill, like WoC and myself. I saw The Tall Guy many many years ago. When I think about that movie, I realize Curtis started his successful formula with that movie. It is a romantic comedy, it features a cad in Rowan Atkinson….later played by Alec Baldwin and Hugh Grant, has a crazy roommate/friend….later seen in Notting Hill and Yesterday. Yep…Richard Curtis had nothing to do with The Full Monty….that movie seems more Danny Boyle than Richard Curtis. I love Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels as well…..but there is always time for a stammering Hugh Grant….lol. Good stuff.
I have always viewed him as being synonymous with romantic comedies yet he has many movies that are not in that genre. Never even heard of Trash.
Hey Taylor…..good thoughts on Richard Curtis. I agree he is synonymous with romantic comedies. I had never heard of Trash before doing this page. His Bean movies are slapstick comedies. I had no idea he and Rowan Atkinson had worked together so much….I knew about Grant and his many Curtis movies. Good stuff.
I have seen 4 Richard Curtis movies, all in the top 10 and all of them are favourites.
The HIGHEST rated movie I have seen is Four Weddings and a Funeral.
The highest rated movie I have NOT seen is War Horse.
The LOWEST rated movie I have seen is Love Actually.
As I said, all of the four films I have seen are favourites:
Four Weddings and a Funeral
Notting Hill
Bridget Jones’s Diary
Love Actually
Like Helakoski, I’m a Hugh Grant fan.
Hey Flora….thanks for checking out our Richard Curtis page. I love three of the four you have seen and liked….only Bridget Jones’ Diary fails to make my favorites list as well. Tally count…me 11, Helakoski 10 and you 4. I am right there with you and Helakoski when it comes to Hugh Grant…love his comic timing. Good feedback as always.
Love his movies as does my mom. I know you like movie counts, happy to say I have seen 10 of these movies. The Hugh Grant ones are the best.
Hey Helakoski….good to hear from you. Thanks for the visit, the comment and the tally count. So I have seen 11….which just barely tops your total. I would say Notting Hill and Love Actually (both with Hugh Grant) are his best movies. I have seen the Bridget Jones trilogy….but they never really impressed me as Curtis’ other movies. Good feedback.
