His IMDb page shows 34 directing credits since 1977. This page will rank 23 Ridley Scott movies from Best to Worst in six different sortable columns of information. Television shows, shorts, cameos and movies that were not released in theaters were not included in the rankings.

  1. Hey, I do not know too many names of directors but the movies that he has directed are very good. Good to know the facts and the personal information as well. THANKS AGAIN!

    1. @Bern 1960. Well he has been a very successful director for almost 40 years now. Thanks for the visit and the comment.

  2. When I think off Ridley Scott I immediately think of Kingdom of Heaven. That is easily my favorite Scott movie. So I am needless to say disappointed that you have the movie ranked 13th.

    1. @Katie….I agree with you 100%….time has been kind to Kingdom of Heaven..especially as more people discover the Director’s Cut. I have watched as it’s IMDb rating has been climbing….it is now up to 7.2…it used to be in the mid 6 range. I am hoping that Kingdom of Heaven will be considered a classic in 20 years.

  3. Now this is more like it. Sir Ridley’s a favorite of mine too Bruce. Alien and Blade Runner are in my top 50. I’ve written about them too. Okay looking at the 22 films you’ve listed, I’ve seen all of them except – Matchstick Men, A Good Year and Exodus. Kingdom of Heaven would have been better with a stronger lead, Crowe, Bale? But I really liked the dir.cut. I was disappointed in Prometheus maybe my expectations were too high. And I’d rather believe Rick Deckard is human too. Excellent work as usual.

    1. @Steve….I figured after two straight 1930s pages…it was time to do a more current movie subject. I have seen 20 of the 22 movies listed. I have not seen his first movie…The Duellists…or his last movie…Exodus.

My Top 5 Scott movies would be Kingdom of Heaven, Alien, Blade Runner, Black Hawk Down, and A Good Year. My Cogerson Movie Score was not too kind to 3 of my favorites….but Blade Runner was a box office bomb…..the Kingdom of Heaven released in theaters was pretty average…and A Good Year is a sweet little film.

You are not missing much in Matchstick Men….but I think A Good Year is worth checking out….Marion Cotillard is very very sexy in that one…plus you get Albert Finney and Russell Crowe.
