Want to know the best Robert Redford movies?  How about the worst Robert Redford movies?  Curious about Robert Redford’s box office grosses or which Robert Redford movie picked up the most Oscar® nominations? Need to know which Robert Redford movie got the best reviews from critics and audiences and which got the worst reviews? Well you have come to the right place….because we have all of that information.

Having taken a small break from writing these movie pages, I decided it was time to do another movie page .  At first I thought I would do a Robert Mitchum page but I got stuck with his many many movies in the 1940s, then I thought I would make my mother-in-law happy and do a Disney Live Action Movie page but then I realized that would be a major undertaking as there are hundreds of Disney Live Action movies. Next I thought I would do an Elvis Presley page but then I realized that I have never even seen one Elvis Presley movie.

Then James Coburn popped into my head but turns out many of his movies are pretty bad and he has supporting roles in most of his movies. So there I was stuck in a rut when I saw a movie clip of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and I realized the Sundance Kid was the way to get out of this rut. So here you go…..a Robert Redford page.

His IMDb page shows 71 acting credits and 10 directing credits from 1960-2017. This page will rank 47 Robert Redford movies from Best to Worst in six different sortable columns of information. Television appearances, cameos and straight to DVD movies were not included in the rankings.

  1. Another thriller? Yes, that is my cup of tea. Thanks for you thoughts on my to-see list. I will look for Spy Game first. I think Robert is the kind of actor that if I see his film on TV, I will watch it regardless of how great/so-so a film it is.

I see now the table about his directing career that I hadn’t mentioned. I have seen the top 5 movies. I admire Ordinary People and Quiz Show very much, but they are difficult to watch. My favourite is A River Runs Through It.

    1. Hey Flora….yep he is making probably his last thriller as he is quickly reaching 80 years of age. I have only seen 3 of his movies he has directed. I did not even realize he had directed The Conspirator until very recently….seems the producers of the movie should have pushed that more in the publicity for the movie.

  2. hello Cogerson. I liked everything Flora said, and she said it better than I could.

Great movie page. A lot of my favorite titles are here.

James Coburn deserves his own page. He will make a great chapter, when you compile your book.

    1. Cogerson
Hey mckbirdbks….thanks for stopping by…I think agreeing with Flora about movies is a good way to go.I will be doing a James Coburn chapter very soon. Thanks for all the kind words and compliment.

  3. Regarding Elvis, Flora recommended some good ones, my two favourites are Jailhouse Rock and King Creole, Elvis was pretty good in both and they are two of the highest rated. Viva Las Vegas has gorgeous Ann Margret, she was a good match for the King. Other faves are Loving You and Flaming Star.

Back on topic, Sneakers, Barefoot in the Park and Three Days of the Condor are also faves of mine.

The Chase is worth a watch, I think the bit everyone remembers is sheriff Marlon Brando getting the crap beaten out of him. I have a nice widescreen copy of the film, Jane Fonda co-stars

    1. Hey Steve…thanks for the Elvis movie recommendations. I am sure I will get his page done very soon….and I imagine the movies you mentioned will be near the top of the rankings. Your mini-review of The Chase has me more interested in seeing the movie. Of the three you mention, I like Three Days of the Condor the best of those three…hard to watch Sneakers without feeling sorry about River Phoenix and his early death.

  4. Another great movie page, Cogerson. I love Robert Redford. I will be looking forward to a Robert Mitchum as well.

    1. Hey gunnarsrud17…thanks for the visit, the comment and the votes. I will be sure to finish off that Robert Mitchum hub very soon. Although I will probably skip all his low budget films he made in the early 1940s.

  5. Well, Robert Redford is a good choice for another HUB. I was surprised that he remarried as I know that his personal life is very private. He is a very good actor and I have seen so many of his movies – just a few that I have missed. I enjoyed the joke that he and Paul Newman did back and forth about an old car…do you know that story? INTERESTING Movie Page COGERSON…IT WAS GOOD TO SEE ANOTHER ONE OF YOUR Pages.

    1. Hey BERN1960….thanks for the visit…I was not aware of the old car story between Newman and Redford….but I did find some information on that story from Redford himself…I am including it with interesting fact #5. Glad you enjoyed this Robert Redford movie page.
