Want to know the best Robert Redford movies?  How about the worst Robert Redford movies?  Curious about Robert Redford’s box office grosses or which Robert Redford movie picked up the most Oscar® nominations? Need to know which Robert Redford movie got the best reviews from critics and audiences and which got the worst reviews? Well you have come to the right place….because we have all of that information.

Having taken a small break from writing these movie pages, I decided it was time to do another movie page .  At first I thought I would do a Robert Mitchum page but I got stuck with his many many movies in the 1940s, then I thought I would make my mother-in-law happy and do a Disney Live Action Movie page but then I realized that would be a major undertaking as there are hundreds of Disney Live Action movies. Next I thought I would do an Elvis Presley page but then I realized that I have never even seen one Elvis Presley movie.

Then James Coburn popped into my head but turns out many of his movies are pretty bad and he has supporting roles in most of his movies. So there I was stuck in a rut when I saw a movie clip of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and I realized the Sundance Kid was the way to get out of this rut. So here you go…..a Robert Redford page.

His IMDb page shows 71 acting credits and 10 directing credits from 1960-2017. This page will rank 47 Robert Redford movies from Best to Worst in six different sortable columns of information. Television appearances, cameos and straight to DVD movies were not included in the rankings.

    1. Hey Flu-bird….I know the show you are talking about…Redford made many tv shows before finally hitting it big…thanks for the comment and the visit…both are greatly appreciated.

  1. He Alun…thanks for the visit and the compliment. I agree with you about the Hill, Newman, and Redford movies, they are awesome and desire multiple viewings. Newman and Redford each made a third movie with Hill(Great Waldo Pepper and Slap Shot)…but never another with all three.

As for Butch vs Sting…well statistically Sting easily wins….but I have to admit I do not think I will ever be on yourside of that argument. The Sting is a great movie…but Butch and Sundance is greater….even if my mom does not agree…..lol.

    1. Hey Mr. Archer…..thanks for stopping by. Glad to see my rankings were kind to your favorite two Redford movies. Jeremiah Johnson was a movie that seemed to play on a regular basis on tv when Sunday Night at the Movies was so big when I was a kid. Thanks for the visit and the comment.

  2. I’ve only seen All the President’s Men. I tried to watch the Sting but I had a hard time catching on to it. I know about his humanitarian efforts more than I do his films but hopefully that will change. He’s also done alot for independent film with his Sundance partnership so he has alot to be proud of. Great movie page Cogerson!

    1. Hey Alecia Murphy. I would highly recommend Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. That movie is one of my favorites of all-time. It has action, humor and was the very first buddy movie. You still have a chance to see some new Redford movies as he has two new ones coming out very soon. Thanks for the comment and for stopping by.

  3. How did this hunk of a man get by me? I don’t remember many of his movies, but I remember enjoying every photo I’ve ever seen him in! Two words … Eye Candy!:)

    1. Hey Sunshine625….I am glad my Eye Candy movie page caught your eye….I would have to agree that he was an extremely handsome man back in the late 1960s and 1970s. He was Brad Pitt before there was a Brad Pitt….which is cool because they have made two films together…A River Runs Through It and Spy Games. Thanks for the visit.

  4. I always thought Robert Redford was a bit under appreciated as an actor. Some of my favorites are The Sting, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and Three Days of the Condor. It is really a shame that he and Paul Newman only made two pictures together – they had great chemistry. As a director he has really shined as well. Ordinary People and Quiz Show were outstanding, and The Conspirator is probably his most underrated effort.

    1. Hey thatmovieguy71….I remember the rumors of a third Newman/Redford movie…but sadly they never became a reality..even as late as 2006 the rumors were still out there. But they gave us two classic movies…I guess we should not be greedy…lol. I love Quiz Show….Ordinary People is good but not great in my opinion….although I love Donald Sutherland’s role and acting in that movie. Thanks for stopping by.
