Robin Williams was one of my favorite actors.  I still am in disbelief about how his life came to an end.  On the day of his passing, I had just rented his movie, The Angriest Man in Brooklyn. In that movie Robin Williams’ character at the end of this movie said…..”My tombstone will say…”Henry Altman, 1951 dash 2014. I never knew till now it’s not the dates that matter….it’s the dash”. Then his final words in the movie…..”But he also felt at peace in the knowledge that somehow he would live on in the hearts of those who loved him”. Watching this movie on the day Robin Williams passed away was somewhat eerie …especially since his tombstone will now read “Robin Williams, 1951 dash 2014 and the last lines are how many people will remember Mr. Robin Williams. But enough depressing stuff let’s look at his awesome movie career.

His IMDb page shows 102 acting credits from 1977-2015. This page will rank 64 Robin Williams movies from Best to Worst in seven different sortable columns of information. Television shows, shorts, cameos and movies that were not released in theaters were not included in the rankings.

  1. Hey Cogerson, I thought you were done doing hubpages? And yet I get an e-mail saying you have a new hub. Great facts, and I especially liked the trivia on Robin helping out Spielberg on Schlinder’s List. I can easily see how that would have helped out the crew.

As for Robin Williams, I used to be a big fan of his, but he lost me during the late 90s, too many depressing movies like Bicentenial Man, Jakob the Liar, When Dreams May Come. Somewhere he lost his funny. Voted up and interesting as always.

    1. Hey KellyE….well my time spent on hubpages has decreased…but the fact is HubPages has the best format to produce the best articles….so I write the hub here and share it everywhere else….with ChimeIn being the site I spend the most time on now.

I know what you mean about his movies in the late 1990s….I actually saw Bicentennial Man at the theater…he spends the whole movie watching people die or wishing he would die…..not too happy of a movie…I have never seen Jakob the Liar….but it seems like a pretty depressing movie as well.

  2. Very well done, I am actually shocked that so many of his movies were such box office hits. Although my favorite Robin Williams movie is way down the list, The Survivors, with the late great Walter Matthau. A very interesting and fascinating work that you have put together.

    1. Hey Shaun…I do believe Robin Williams is in the Top 10 of box office stars as his movies have grossed over 3 billion in US alone. I have always liked Survivors myself. It would be a classic if it had a better ending. Thanks for the comments.

  3. I love Robin Williams. I grew up watching his movies. I most have seen Aladdin 1000 times when I was younger and he could always make me laugh. Jumanji is another favorite of mine, although I most admit I have not really noticed much of his movies lately. I did not even realize that he was in the Musuem movies until reading your movie page. Awesome job.

    1. Hey AlabamaGirl86….I know what you mean about seeing Aladdin so many times…I have had 4 kids go through a heavy rotation of watching Aladdin repeatedly. Robin Williams is always funny whenever he shows up. Jumanji is an interesting movie as well. As for the Night of the Musuem movies, his part is pretty small….but he over 60 now so supporting roles will probably be his future. Thanks for stopping by.

  4. Well, I had no idea that he made so many movies but I enjoyed his role in Good Will Hunting and some other movies. I liked the role he played in Mrs. Doubtfire – that was a good role…another great MOVIE PAGE Cogerson. Thanks again for interesting facts…….

    1. Hey Bern1960….he has been a very busy actor….52 movies in thirty years and this does not include all of his tv work and movies that did not get released to theaters(The Big Whiteout and Seize the Day). I am glad you liked him in Good Will Hunting(that is one of Debbie’s favorite movies as well). Thanks for stopping by.

  5. I feel kind of loser-ish, though, because two of the give of my favorites are just not popular (Death to Smoochy and What Dreams May Come)

    1. Hey Cammiebar. Thanks for the votes up. I think the two movies you mention are very interesting ones. What Dreams May Come is very well done, it even won an Oscar, but it is pretty depressing….although it is a movie that I seem to think about many times. As for Death to Smoochy…I think it is gaining cult status….it just got totally ignored at the box office. But I like the movie as well, one of Danny Devito’s more interesting directed movies. Thanks for stopping by.
