Ronald Reagan (1911-2004) was a American actor. He appeared in movies from 1937 to 1964.  Reagan’s second career, politics, far out shined his movie career.  Sixteen years after making The Killing, Reagan became the 40th President in United States history.  Since this is a movie website….those will be the only two sentences about his second career.  His IMDb page shows 81 acting credits from 1937-1989. Drivel part:  Recently we got a hold of the Warner Brothers box office ledgers from the Golden Era of Hollywood.   1. His movie career can only be considered a “joke” if you do not do any actual research and rely on a few anecdotal references only. He had a very solid, if not spectacular career in Hollywood and was definitely an up and coming star pre World War II. He was no bit part actor either, starring as the lead for a top movie studio (Warner Bros.) in the 40’s and 50’s and many of his films did quite well at the box office. People love to mention his “Bedtime for Bonzo” film with a chimpanzee to try and denigrate him, yet Cary Grant did one too around the same time. BTW, “Bonzo” did quite well at the Box Office but even so, was not representative of all the types of movies he was in.
