HI BRUCE
The Great Van D’s autograph – wow, I don’t mind admitting to jealousy!
Coincidentally I’m actually half way thru a TV rerun of an episode of his Diagnosis Murder TV series. In this one he goes under cover in an old people’s home to unmask a murderer.
Best of luck on your certification test. Please keep your viewers informed of progress. No matter what, too, keep going! I had to take my driving test 4 times before passing it and to slightly paraphrase Bob Dylan “The last one now shall later be first” -as practice makes perfect I think I’m now a safer driver than many on the road who sailed thru first time .
Anyway keep safe yourself.
Is that you on the bottom?
Hey Dan…you are 100% correct…..that is me standing in for Emily at the bottom of our ladder picture…lol.
Nice family you have there Bruce.
What kind of movies do they like to watch? What are their favorites? Star Wars? Harry Potter? Die Hard? 🙂
Thanks Steve. I would say the older boys have very similar taste in movies as me. Katie, the oldest daughter has the Harry Potter movies -think how you feel about Star Wars. Alex the youngest son likes movies…but does not love them. And the little girls love anything that is computer animated. Though….You Tube is the thing they watch the most. Thanks for the kids words.
What a beautiful family you have.
Thank you Flora.
It shows you how my subconscious always searches for a movie comparison when it sees something new: when I looked at the photo above I immediately thought of the 1952 movie My Six Convicts starring normally supporting actors Gilbert Roland and Millard Mitchell.
Sadly Millard who was in the classic Singin’ in the Rain that same year died prematurely the following year aged 50– in Singin‘ he was the guy who at the end helped Eugene pull up the curtain to reveal Debbie as the ‘voice behind’.
I am sure your ‘dynasty’ will all choose their own career paths throughout life but if you did want to practice nepotism you would never be able to match the cast of the May 2001 episode of the TV series Diagnosis Murder called The Blair Nurse Project –
Dick Van Dyke / Dr Mark Sloan
Barry Van Dyke /Steve Sloan
Carey Van Dyke/Craig Wilson
Shane Van Dyke/Alex Smith
Taryn Van Dyke/Missy
Wes Van Dyke/Wes
Hey Bob….I have the same issue with turning everything in life in to movies. As I study for a certification test (I take this Saturday)…WoC is helping me by using movies to help me learn some computer programming questions.
I will have to check out that Diagnosis Murder episode. Speaking of Dick Van Dyke…..we just received his autograph…..and it is now proudly hanging on our autograph wall. Good stuff.
