   I came across the Motion Picture Herald listing of the top box-office stars of 1929-1931. These lists are usually not reprinted, so I will, if anyone is interested. For all their flaws, these polls are interesting.

3. Hi Bruce, Joel doesn’t mince words. I thought she appeared in some pretty good movies later on, but that’s probably because I’ve recently been immersed in Dee, Mansfield and Van Doren’s spectacularly eyepopping filmographies. 🙂

   So no UMR page on the little sex kitten, chief?

   1 I can’t speak for Flora and wouldn’t DARE speak for the Big Guy but speaking just for myself I would welcome a Tuesday Weld video because she made her debut in 1956 when I was only 15 and had started to develop a great fascination with the more serious movies as well as the “cowboys and Indians” fare that had been my main preoccupation until then.

   2 I am therefore quite familiar with Tuesday’s earliest movies with the exception of Sex Kittens Go to College which I had never heard of until I saw your Van Doreen video. So bring Tuesday on !

      Unlike the other recent actresses I’ve done videos on 50s sex kitten Tuesday got better with age, acting wise, and was nominated for an Oscar in 1978 for Looking for Mr. Goodbar. She appeared in some pretty good movies and is still around.

5. Thanks Bob. I prefer The Paleface to the more cartoonish sequel but I like them both. And have them on DVD.

   I’ve had a request for a Tuesday Weld video. Not that familiar with her. What do you guys think? Bob? Bruce? Flora? Anyone?

   Looking at her filmography she has starred with Elvis and Steve McQueen, hmmm…

   1. Hey Steve….she was big enough to make Joel’s Rating The Movie Stars book.

      His thoughts on her….”No actress as gifted as Tuesday Weld has ever appeared in so many mediocre pictures. Even her critical triumphs were usually ignored by mass audiences. Weld is still young, and if she keeps working, that one great part is bound to come along.”

      My thoughts…not thinking that great part every came for her…..but I liked her in The Cincy Kid, Thief and Pretty Poison. I guess she is retired as she has not made a movie in 16 years.

   2. I have not seen many of WEld’s films. I will wait until you do a video on her to say what films I have seen since I prefer to comment on your youtube channel.
