Want to know the best Star Trek movies? How about the worst Star Trek movies? Curious about the Star Trek Movies box office grosses or which Star Trek movies picked up the most Oscar® nominations? Need to know which Star Trek movies got the best reviews from critics and audiences and which got the worst reviews? Well you have come to the right place….because we have all of that information.
This page was originally written as a Star Trek vs Star Wars comparison. Well Star Wars pretty much kicked Star Trek’s butt …… so I figured I would separate these two movie franchises into two pages. This page ranks the 13 Star Trek Movies from Best to Worst. The rankings were determined by looking at box office grosses, critic reviews, audience voting and award recognition. I am also including a second table that looks at all 21 Star Trek/Star Wars movies.

- Sort Star Trek movies by adjusted domestic box office grosses using current movie ticket cost
- Sort Star Trek movies by adjusted worldwide box office grosses using current movie ticket cost

Looking forward to seeing Beyond some time next week. I’m glad people are enjoying it. I liked the first two in the reboot series. I hope it does well at the box office. JJ Abrams is already planning the 4th one with Chris Hemsworth returning as Jim Kirk’s dad.
Hey Steve…..gotta admit the early buzz is sounding really good. Maybe Simon Pegg is the new Leonard Nimoy of the Star Trek franchise. Gene Roddenberry to Leonard Nimoy to somebody before J.J. Abrams to Simon Pegg…when Abrams starts to reboot the Planet of The Apes movies or the Back To The Future movies or the Matrix movies….lol. Yep I read that Thor was coming back in Part IV. Should be interesting.
Just on my way home from watching it and my heart was in my mouth several times. Great to see that every character had a reason to be in screen. Loved the story, has brought the team together , they are a great crew. Wonderful nods throughout to both the old and new with music cues jumping straight from ToS.
Touching tributes through out the movie including a great photo from the final frontier.
I will be watching this gem again
All equal in my case
Hey Lorraine makes me even more mad that tonight I will not be seeing it…..had a babysitter all lined up and everything….maybe tomorrow.
I envy you having the joy of watching this for the first time….. I know I’m going to be watching it again ???…. You will have to keep me posted as to how you found it
Will do that for sure.
Just saw it. Very good movie!
Hey Barbara glad you liked it. Did they give some love to Anton and Leonard in the end credits?
Yes, they did. Just before the credits at the end.
IMAX 3D definitely worth the price.
Good to know…so in a way Leonard Nimoy is in this one too….I like thinking that way. Thanks for the information.
Actually, he was mentioned several times during the movie. You will know when you see it.
The tribute was simple but powerful to both men
I figured they would do it right….glad to see I was right in that case. Thanks Barbara and Lorraine.
I loved it! They did a pretty good job of keep it grounded to the Trek that we know while still being able to pull in new elements. It has heart, humor, emotion, and yes, action. I would say it does the franchise proud! IMO
Great review. I was supposed to go tonight….but sadly it looks like tonight’s plans are going down the drain. Hopefully tomorrow.
Tragedy Bruce!
I just found out that the new Checkov in the reboot series died early this morning at the age of 27 when he was in a car accident and pinned by his car. He was from Russia originally. He was an only child. His family is asking for privacy. The new Star Trek film comes out in July.
