Fav line “you have to plant a lot of seeds,let it grow into a plant.And then you f**k the plant”.This film just never gets old,and Carrell is superbly cast in it.

I just saw The Big Short today with a group of friends. I loved the movie. Having heard of various opinions about the movie and its subject matter, I went into the movie with the point of view that it was a financial version of All the President’s Men in going back to see how the events happened and paid very close attention to everything. I loved it. Just as the movie suggests, it was indeed more understandable all the terms when they were explained in similies like the chef and the leftover fish, the gambling house and betting on bets etc.
Having seen it, I am so happy that I do not live in Vancouver, that my home is an apartment etc. and that I am an owner not a renter relying upon a landlord to keep his or her payments.
Hey Flora….the wife and I saw this a few weeks ago too. And we both enjoyed it too. I took awhile to get used to the way the movie went from a regular movie to one that stopped, turned to the camera and starting talking to the audience. But after you get used to that part of the movie the movie really takes off….even creating some tension when you know what the end result would be. It is a very scary movie….especially at the end when they said the banks had come up with a new mortgage bond…..very very scary that they (the banks) would try and go down that road again.
