  1. Teri Garr has died. Bruce. She was 79. Besides Tootsie and Frankenstein, other favourites are The Conversation and The Black Stallion. Rest in peace.

  2. HI BRUCE

Thanks for your detailed feedback on my Teri Garr post.

To complicate things further there was also a Teri Hatcher [ who appeared for example in Stallone/Russell’s Tango and Cash and Sally Field’s Soapdish] starting to build a career around the time that I caught up with the Teri’s Polo and Garr.

However I didn’t mention Hatcher in my earlier post as I don’t know too much about her career. On checking it out briefly I find that she has done much better in terms of quantity at least than either Garr or Polo as across the board Hatcher has 6 acting awards and 19 nominations and has built up a staggering net fortune of $50 million and of course compared with that Garr and Polo have earned just a “pittance”

Hatcher hasn’t had it all her own way though – sadly no “Cogerson love” yet and of course as her career started in 1989 the Master’s 1983 book had no opportunity to include her. However Teri Hatcher is still going strong and recently had the lead female voice role in the 2013/2014 money-making Planes films and has the female lead in 2019’s Madness in the Method currently filming.

    1. Hey Bob….that is a lot of Teri s running around. Not thinking a Hatcher page is coming anytime soon…..besides Tango and Cash…..without the help of IMDb I can not think of many Hatcher movies.

  3. Being a long time Star Trek fan I was familiar with Teri Garr from the second season episode Assignment Earth (which was also meant to be the pilot for a new earthbound sci-fi series that never happened).

I’ve seen 9 of the 32 films on the chart. My favorite film here is Close Encounters of the Third Kind, which is one of my 3 favorite Spielberg films (the other two being Jaws and Raiders). One other favorite – Young Frankenstein, a comedy masterpiece.

Tootsie tops Close Encounters on the US box office and UMR chart. It’s been decades since I last watched Tootsie, I’ll probably like it more now than I did then.

    Nice work Bruce. Vote Up!

    1. Hey Steve….I almost used a Star Trek photo in the page. I also remember her on that show. Only 9 seen? Sorta of surprised with your total….if only because she was in many “event” movies back in the day. I am right there with you on Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Spielberg made those 3 classics almost back to back to back. The movie missing it up is 1941….which is another of your favorites. I just recently re-watched Tootsie. It is a good movie….but the humor seems pretty dated now. Bill Murray and Teri Garr are very good in the movie. As always…thanks for the feedback.
