Tom Cruise (1962-) has been one of the biggest movie stars for almost forty years. He first started appearing in supporting roles in the early 1980s in movies like Endless Love, Taps and The Outsiders. After appearing in those supporting roles, he got the chance to star in 1983’s surprise hit …..Risky Business. After Risky Business it has been a string of hit movie after hit movie.
His IMDB page shows over 50 acting credits since 1981. This page will rank Tom Cruise movies from Best to Worst in seven different sortable columns of information. The only movies not included in the rankings are the ones that have not yet been released in theaters and his Austin Power’s cameo.

- Sort Tom Cruise movies by his co-stars
- Sort Tom Cruise movies by adjusted domestic box office grosses using current movie ticket cost (in millions)
- Sort Tom Cruise movies by yearly domestic box office rank
- Sort Tom Cruise movies by how they were received by critics and audiences. 60% rating or higher should indicate a good movie.
- Sort by how many Oscar® nominations and how many Oscar® wins each Tom Cruise movie received.
- Sort Tom Cruise movies by Ultimate Movie Rankings (UMR) Score. UMR puts box office, reviews and awards into a mathematical equation and gives each movie a score.

Well, I did not know that Tom Cruise’s movies made that much money. I like him and think he is a good actor. The Firm and A Few Good Men and Rain Man are some of my favorite movies but like most of them. VERY INTERESTING FACTS. KEEP THE HUBS COMING. ANOTHER INTERESTING HUB WOULD BE HOW MUCH MONEY COMES TO ACTORS FOR MOVIES, DVD’S AND OF COURSE TV AND HOW LONG DO ACTORS KEEP GETTING RIDUALS. MUST BE HELPFUL WHEN TIMES ARE SLIM PICKENS.
Hey BERN1960….the last few years have not been the kindest to him…..but I am sure Mission Impossible IV will probably break the bank this Xmas….thanks for the compliment….as for your residual question I have never seen any info on that…but I will keep my eyes open for it…thanks for stopping by
He’s a bit of a pillock with his loonyology, but he’s a good actor. I watched a few good men only a few weeks ago and he put in a great performance. When you look through the list he’s actually been in a lot of good movies. Great movie magic as usual from our Mr movies. Cheers
Hey attemptedhumour….he has pretty much stopped talking about his “loonyology”…which was probably a pretty wise idea….his list of good movies is pretty impressive…and they have all made a ton of movie…thanks for commenting….
I actually enjoyed the Mission Impossible movies; surprised myself.:) Still can’t believe he’s number two on the Greatest list. Guess I’m just ooold
Hey Fay….well circle December 16th 2011 on your calender….because Mission Impossible-Ghost Protocol will be released in a movie theater near you……as for his #2 ranking….although I am not the biggest fan of Cruise…you have to give him credit…..30 years of movie blockbusters, critically acclaimed movies, and Oscar nominated performances…is a pretty impressive run…thanks for reading
I’ve never liked Tom Cruise and I dislike him more and more as his career goes on. I saw his break-through film “Risky Business” when it first came out and he didn’t impress him. The only Tom Cruise films I’ve seen in theaters since then were “Rain man” (Because Dustin Hoffman was in it), “the Firm” (Because of the great Gene Hackman), and “A Few Good men” (Because of Nicholson). He still doesn’t impress me. I rate him as a mediocre talent who’s good looks have made him a matiness idol. Very over-rated.
Hey Robwrite….I would have to say he is not one of my favorites either…I think if his next Mission Impossible fails, his box office reign could be in serious trouble. Two of the Cruise movies I did like were Vanilla Sky(I know I am one of the few….I loved Kurt Russell in that movie)and Tropic Thunder were he had a very funny supporting role….just so you know Eddie Murphy will be the next modern day actor….thanks for the comments
“I feel the need for speed”,Tom makes me feel old as I’ve seen him grow up in front of me…I even didn’t mind “Cocktail.:-))
Mentalist acer…..my first R-rated I ever saw….Endless Love….which he was a young punk kid….while I was a young punk kid….I see him getting older and I see myself getting older…..Cocktail is a fun movie to watch with a nice soundtrack…thanks for stopping by
