  1. I can not believe you have been doing this for three years, I do remember the first Hanks page and yes your format has improved greatly. Saving Private Ryan is by far the best Hanks movie. Thanks for the update.

    1. Yes hinton1966 it has been a quick 3 years and I have greatly appreciated all the comments you have sent my way…how would I have ever guessed that you think Saving Private Ryan is his best movie..lol.

  2. My favorite Tom Hanks movie will always be The Burbs. I don’t care if no one else has seen it, it is awesome. I mean, seriously, it even stars Corey Feldman. Now that says quality right there! But seriously, it is awesome.

    1. Hey jeannieinabottle….I actually agree with you….I laughed very hard and often when I saw this movie at the theater….and yes any movie with Corey Feldman is a classic…if only Burbs’ would have had Corey Haim as well….as soon as I published this hub…the very next hub was this one….

  3. I love Tom Hank movies…well, those at least that I have had the privaledge to see and enjoy. I like the Toy Story series, Cast Away and his Devinci Code. Forest Gump was a great one too. Thank you for all your research into his movies. I am definitely impressed!

    1. Well thank you septembergirl, and welcome to hub pages. I greatly appreciate the compliment. I also really like all the movies you mentioned with the exception of The Da Vinci Code which I hoped one be a movie that turned a great book into a great movie….sadly Hanks and Ron Howard could not capture the magic of the book, in my opinion of course….thanks for stopping by.

  4. My all time favorite movies with Tom Hanks are Cast Away and Green Mile. He is one of my favorite actors. Great page!

    1. Thanks for stopping by Victoria Trix….I love Green Mile as well…..I do not think any other actor could have pulled off Cast Away….pretty much he kept us entertained with a himself, a package and a volleyball for 2 hours. I appreciate the comment

  5. He was Michael J. Fox’s Uncle on Family Ties too-had a drinking problem. My thoughts on Tom Hanks are divided. I can’t really consider myself a Hanks fan because there are some of his films I have no interest in seeing or wish I hadn’t seen. And yet there are others I have enjoyed and actually seen multiple times. I can only conclude that I am neutral about him and that I consider each film on its own merit as supposed to where I want to see every movie Gregory Peck ever made. When I see a Hanks film, he happens to be in it. That’s not meant as a criticism, just a comment that he is not one of those actors where I love them so much that I am willing to see even his bad films. What was I thinking when I decided to watch Peck in Marooned?

Here are my top ten Hanks films in alphabetical order:

    Big

    Catch Me if You Can

    A League of Their Own

    Philidelphia

    Road to Perdition

    Turner and Hooch

    1. Hey Flora, interesting points on Mr. Hanks. I think since 1992 almost all of his projects have been high profile high budget movies. I think his career before 1992 was a case of hits and misses, with the misses easily outnumbering the hits. Also think his career follows the path of all the great actors….his peak is probably over….he will make some more good movies but in ten years he will be closer to 70 than 60….his legacy will be all the great movies he made in his peak.

Gregory Peck did the same thing…pretty much To Kill A Mockingbird was his peak….the rest of his movies after Mockingbird are rarely mentioned with Peck’s great movies….I am sure in twenty years nobody will be talking about Larry Crowne…when Hanks retires. Knowing a little bit about your taste in movies I can understand why Saving Private Ryan is not on your list…but no Forrest Gump? And finally just so you know…after I update/face lift my Julia Roberts hub….Richard Widmark will have his own movie page….I have already started to research his box office career. As always thanks for your comments.
