  1. By the way, I do not understand why Angels & Demons got such small scores! I understand that there was many changes in the face of the book, but movie was…good and well-made.

I was simply shocked when I saw explosion in the final scene – it was one of the best movie effect I ever seen.

    1. ey froch…I actually thought Angels and Demons was much better than Da Vinci Code….the problem with Da Vinci Code is the book had a very different thinking about religion….that view made the book very successful…the movie comes along and tried to take that view and make it more mainstream….which left a very ordinary movie…and upset most of the book lovers….meanwhile Angels and Demons was liked better, if only because the book did not have as many loyal fans….so not as many people realize how the producers of the movie changed the ending of the book..but I agree the explosion was a great special effect…also taking a note from Roger Ebert….I think as Evan McGregor was cast….80% of America could figure out who was going to be the bad guy in the movie…..thanks for your comments

  2. I think everybody is forgetting the impact his first movie with Ron Howard had on his career, I am of course talking about Splash. The fact that Splash is only 14th should tell you that Hanks makes many great movies. That turned Hanks from an unknown tv actor into a major movie player. Glad to see that Bonfire of the Vanities ranked so low, that is a horrible movie.

    1. Hey tabathia, yes you are correct Splash put hangs on the map, it started his whole comedy movie run of the 1980s….back then I even thought The Man With One Red Shoe was funny…not so much now…without Splash who knows were Hanks would have ended up…..Bonfire of the Vanities was so bad it even has a full book written about how they managed to screw up a great book…thanks for stopping by.

  3. Tom Hanks is one of the greatest actors in any generation, I love how he has turned into royalty in Hollywood, I really beleive he has taken over one of Clark Gable’s titles, The King of Hollywood. My favorite movies of his would be the forgotten Nothing in Commen with Jackie Gleason and Forrest Gump. I never liked the movie Philadelphia, but I was glad he won an Oscar for that movie.

    1. Hey KellyE….I had never really thought about it….but if Gable was the King back then….then I do not think anybody has more clout or love than Hanks now….so yes Tom Hanks is the King of Hollywood….thanks for the comments.

    1. Hey Sunshine625…I agree that is a classic gross scene….you would have to be one determined person to actually do that….or a death row prisoner with nothing to do. Thanks for letting us know your evil plans….lol.

  4. In my opinion the best movie with Tom Hanks was a “Saving Private Ryan”. I do not like war movies but this one is perfect.

My wife fell in love in his latest movies about Larry Crowne. Or may she fell in love to Tom Hanks? I must speak to her about this 😉

    1. Hey froch…Saving Private Ryan is a classic….I think one of the great Hollywood mysteries is how Saving Private Ryan lost out to Shakespeare in Love for the Oscar for Best Picture. As for Larry Crowne, the more that actually watch the movie seem to think the movie is pretty good…sounds like the critics could be wrong about it….good luck figuring out the wife…lol….thanks for stopping by.
