  1. Hi

I first came to know of Tommy Lee Jones in The Coal Miner’s Daughter. That’s 36 years ago. The thing I love about Jones is his facial expressions. It’s a well worn face, all chiseled out from the school of hard knocks. I think that’s why he comes across very well as a sheriff or law man. I loved the bit in Lincoln where he takes off his wig and climbs into bed with his black partner. It’s a really good touch. I think he’s someone who’ll be around for a long time, all his performances are interesting, maybe that’s why he can be difficult on set.
    Cheers

    1. Hey Chris….I think we share the same exact memory of Tommy Lee Jones. Coal Miner’s Daughter used to play in HBO all the time when we first got cable. Pretty sure for years that is how identified him…..oh….the guy from Coal Miner’s.

I agree he still has great roles left in him for sure. I wonder how close the industry projections will be for his next blockbuster Jason Bourne? That was indeed a good twist in Lincoln. I recently watched Backroads with Jones and Sally Field….apparently they did not get along at all while making that romantic comedy….I wonder what they thought 30 plus years later when they both got to go the Oscars as nominees for the same movie….Lincoln.

As always thanks for stopping by and sharing your movie knowledge.

  2. Even though I have heard he is somewhat difficult to work with it is hard to argue with his end results. I wonder if they will make a MIB4?

    1. Hey OU812…I have not heard about a MIB4…..based on his small part in 3….not thinking he will have a major role in 4 if they ever make it. Thanks for the visit.
