Top 10 John Wayne Movies

Just finished publishing a Top 10 John Wayne Movies You Tube video.  Publishing a You Tube video is not really something new for us…as we have done a few videos over the last year or so.  The fact that we finally figured out how to make a video while using actually movie scenes versus still shots from the movie….is the big news….at least in our little part of the world.

So…since we are so happy with our latest video…we thought we would share the video here…..mainly because our website gets considerable more traffic than our You Tube video channel.  Any thoughts on the video would greatly be appreciated.  To see our UMR John Wayne page follow this link…Ranking 82 John Wayne Movies.

Our first You Tube video using real John Wayne movie clips.

Over the years our John Wayne movie page has been very popular. When we originally starting writing about movies when only looked at modern movie stars.  My mother-in-law suggested that I do a Clark Gable page.  At the time I thought that nobody would be interesting in a Gable page.  Well time has proved that my mother-in-law is pretty smart.  Turns out almost 70% of our traffic comes from our classic movie pages.

    1. Hey Roxanne…thanks for checking out my video….I agree some of the stats are very suprising…I think the fact that Reap The Wild Wind was so popular is the most surprising. A guess when screen legends Cecil B. DeMille and Wayne get together box office magic was going to happen.

    1. Thank you William…I had a lot of fun doing this one. Did you like the surprise #1 at the end? That was when the “silly” in me escaped.

    1. Thanks for the nice words. My final rankings might not be perfect….but there are lots of movie stats to back up the choices.

  1. Excellent work Bruce and a nice tribute to the Duke. Nicely edited and full of facts. As a John Wayne fan I’ve seen all the films you’ve listed there and own a lot of them on DVD too. I was surprised to see Rio Bravo top the critics list, The Searchers is generally considered his best film and some list it as the greatest western of all time. Rio Bravo is more enjoyable though. I laughed at The Conqueror clip. True Grit was very popular but not his best western, in my opinion. Voted Up.

    1. Hey Steve….Thanks for checking out my latest video. I think the difference in the Top 5 when looking at the critical/audience rating is pretty low. So I think they all are considered great movies. I agree with you about Rio Bravo…..it is way more fun that watching The Searchers. Not saying the Searchers is not a good movie….just not a fun movie to watch. True Grit got the edge over some of his other classics….because of that all important Oscar win for Wayne….that pretty much sealed the deal as the #1 Wayne movie. As always….thanks for stopping by.
