Top 10 Steve McQueen Movies

Steve McQueen in The Great Escape

Just finished publishing a Top 10 Steve McQueen Movies You Tube video.  Publishing a You Tube video is not really something new for us…as we have done a few videos over the last year or so.  The fact that we finally figured out how to make a video while using actually movie scenes versus still shots from the movie….is the big news….at least in our little part of the world.

So…since we are so happy with our latest video…we thought we would share the video here…..mainly because our website gets considerable more traffic than our You Tube video channel.  We have included three videos on this page.  The first video is called “Top 10 Steve McQueen Movies“.  The second video is called “Give Harrison Ford His Damn Oscar Already“.  We like this video….but it shows how our videos used to be.  Still photos with copy free music.  The third video is called “Our First You Tube Video: It Can Only Get Better“.  Our little girls love making videos on the computer…for months they have been requesting for us to make a You Tube video, using their many videos they have made.  So a few days ago, we sat down and taught ourselves how to edit videos on our computer.  The video is essential a Cogerson home video…but it was a great learning activity….and even includes a few cameos by me….Cogerson.

Our first You Tube video using real Steve McQueen movie clips.

We did this video the day the Honorary Oscar® winners were announced and once again…Mr. Harrison Ford was not on the list of winners.

This video was our guinea pig.  It is our little girls at their silliest…but it was a great way to learn about video editing and lots of other stuff.

    1. Hey Robert…Wanted Dead or Alive was my father’s favorite tv show. My dad actually got to meet McQueen a few times. This video only looked at his movies…but Wanted Dead or Alive is without a doubt a major reason that McQueen became such a legendary movie star. Thanks for checking out my video.

  1. Cool post… never saw a bad McQueen flick… and I’ve seen them all. My 1st car was a ’68 Mustang GT, green.

    1. Hey Steve….I have seen most of them….one of the few I have not seen…The Great St. Louis Bank Robbery is sitting on my DVD player waiting to be watched.

  2. My favorite of his movies is The Great Escape, but my favorite of his performances (for skill and emotion) is definitely Papillon. Of the movies on this list, the one I have the biggest problem with is The Thomas Crown Affair. McQueen was always “Mr. Tee Shirt” and the embodiment of casual cool. He had no business playing a man who should seem like he was BORN in a 3-piece suit. The McQueen movie I love that isn’t on the list is Junior Bonner. Though my main reason for loving it is the awesome supporting performances from Robert Preston and Ida Lupino as his parents.

    1. Hey Matthew….thanks for checking out my McQueen video. I think Thomas Crown was his chance to go for being a suave character….like Cary Grant’s chance to go for being a bum….Father Goose. Junior Bonner was one of McQueen’s personal favorites…..I have not seen it in ages….it was his 25th biggest box office…..but his 12th best according to critics and audiences. Junior did not make the video….but it did make it during the video credits at the end.

  3. Really, really well done and put together Bruce! I know Steve was disappointed re the results of the Academy but he never said anything publically. The timing of the Sand Pebbles (war related) and the ‘unpopular’ Vietnam conflict at the time was often referred to as the reason he didn’t get the Award. I would have to look up who won it in 1966. I was drafted into the Army and didn’t get to go to Hong Kong from Taiwan. Steve and Neile wrote to me 4-5 times while I was in Vietnam and had my wife and me over for diner when I returned to the US in 1968. A lot of fond McQueen memories! Thanks for sharing the rankings! John

    1. Hey John glad you liked my McQueen video. I finally figured out how to do these with movie clips. ..it was a proud day…lol. Thanks for sharing those McQueen moments…sounds like some really great memories. McQueen lost to Paul Schofield in A Man For All Seasons.
