  1. Top Gun volleyball, slumber party nice memory of my childhood. I can play the tally contest. I have seen 17 of these movies. Favorites include Real Genius, Top Gun and Willow. Wore those VHS tapes out in the mid 1990s.

    1. Hey Helakoski…..thanks for sharing your favorite Top Gun childhood memories. I actually watched those same movies ….just in the 1980s.

Need some help. We are going to do a new Family Feud video….and want to use a picture that represents you….for example….going to find a Marlon Brando picture for Bob, Charlton Heston picture for Steve, Anna Kendrick for Katie…..who would be your avatar? Thanking you in advance.

  2. I wasn’t sure if this was a new page, thought you did one on Kilmer a long time ago.

I liked Kilmer in a bunch of films 20 or 30 years ago but he seems to have made a mess of his career, labeled as a ‘difficult actor’ and shunned by Hollywood. In an interview a few months ago he admits to not playing the game properly. A shame really, he was a good actor.

Director Joel Schumacher on Kilmer – “Batman Forever, when we were on the world tour, it just really went to his head,” says Schumacher of Kilmer’s exit, before stopping himself. “I’m not going to get into that. He wanted to do Island of Doctor Moreau because Marlon Brando was going to be in it. So he dropped us at the eleventh hour.”

I’ve seen 24 of the 46 films listed. Favorites include – Top Secret, Top Gun, Real Genius, Willow, Tombstone, True Romance. Prince of Egypt, Batman Forever, Heat and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

He was excellent as Doc Holliday in Tombstone, my favorite rendition of the role.

Looking at the grosses Top Gun was a huge moneymaker for Paramount, I wonder if they’ve waited too long to set up a sequel. ‘Maverick’ is involved, I wonder if they’ll give ‘Iceman’ a call too.

    Top work Bruce. Vote Up.

    1. Hey Steve
      1. Yep….this is a brand new page…though it is already the 2nd newest page….lol.
      2. A friend I work with, Vandross, could not believe I did not have a Kilmer page…..so I felt I had to ease his pain…lol.
      3. I agree Kilmer started off so strong….what a start…Real Genius, Top Gun, Top Secret (love that movie) and Willow.
      4. If you look at his top ranked movies….only Deja Vu was made in the last 23 years…..I threw out Prince of Egypt for this comment.
      5. I have seen 28 of these movies…..so I have a slight edge.
      6. Of your favorites….I like them all…..though I have not seen Prince of Egypt…..I think it is sitting on my DVD rack…unopened for years!
      7. Right there with you about Tombstone and Kilmer’s performance.
      8. I think Kilmer will get a shout out for Top Gun 2….probably a cameo….as Kilmer’s health might make it difficult for a substantial part….which is a shame.
Thanks for the tally, the comment and the vote up.

  3. Love Val. He is a great actor, but it is his fight with throat cancer that has really inspired me. He is an advocate of the power of prayer. My prayers to Val and his family as the continue to deal with his health concerns. Keep praying! Liked and shared.

    1. Hey Lillian….good to know his off screen beliefs have made such a deep impact on you. Hoping Kilmer has a speedy and successful recovery. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

  4. “Easily one of the coolest movie actors of the last 30 years. At times he has reminded me of Steve McQueen’s persona. Too bad his career soured after 1999. Now he is unrecognizable!” – David Norris

    1. Hey David….Kilmer and McQueen?……interesting……though I am having a hard time seeing it myself. But….maybe in his post Top Gun glory….which only lasted a few years. I do agree with you that his career really went downhill once the calender went to the 2000s. Thanks for the comment and the visit…both greatly appreciated.

    1. Hey Anonymous. Thanks for the thoughts on Val Kilmer. His Batman performance is fading quickly…,heck that was 4 Batman’s ago…..lol.
